Consignment Crack

Are any of you out there moms on “consignment crack?”  My husband came up with this term because he says that’s how I start acting when I sell stuff at a consignment sale but especially when I am shopping at one. I get so into it or wanting to get the deal that it becomes like a crack addiction.

haha!

You are a mom on “consignment crack” possibly if you:

  • sell your kids clothes at consignment sales
  • buy your kids clothes at consignment sales
  • wait in hour+ long lines to buy your kids clothes at a consignment sale
  • stay up late or last minute tagging your clothes (like at 3AM)
  • buy note cards, safety pins, or hangers by the 100’s.
  • volunteer at a sale just to be able to shop early
  • shop, then go back on the 50% off day and shop more
  • have bags or boxes of clothes to be tagged for a sale in a closet or in the garage (for months)
Just one of my baskets

Well, these are just some of the things that you will do when you are on “consignment crack” For me, I do all those things most of the time. Last Fall, I volunteered just to be able to shop early and I waited in line for an hour just to get into the building along with about 40+ other moms on “consignment crack”. I got some great deals! This Spring I am volunteering for the shift for those ladies on “consignment crack” who are shopping at the volunteer only shop time so that I can shop before them.

Jack and Jules Children's Consignment
There actually is a sale happening now here in Tennessee. Jack and Jules has been awarded East Tennessee’s Best. I am volunteering a shift and will be shopping early again! I  had a lot of work to do: buy supplies, organize clothes, put clothes on hangers, safety pin note cards, write description, add sticker, etc. plus drop off, and shop & save! Yay! I am so excited!

Are any of you on “consignment crack?” These sales sure do work for me! What is the craziest thing you do or have done when it comes to selling or buying at consignment sales?
